About Charleston Florist

Charleston's Go-To for Stunning Flowers Since 1933

Since 1933, Charleston Florist has remained committed to serving the Lowcountry with gorgeous blooms, creative designs, and a family tradition of brightening every occasion with a personal touch.

What started with Lucille F. Styles, a $50 loan from friends and family, and the support of her husband's nursery has grown into a five-generation, family-owned, woman-led business that delivers exceptional floral designs from Downtown Charleston to James Island, West Ashley, Kiawah Island, Johns Island, Folly Beach, and beyond.

Most of our arrangements are named after generations of family members that have come after our fearless founder, Lucille's true legacy.

A Legacy of Love, Passion, and Petals

Lucille F. Styles, our founder, was a trailblazer in Charleston. She was the first female member of the Charleston Chamber of Commerce and worked tirelessly as a dedicated florist. Lucille made it a priority to be available when the Navy ships would bring soldiers home, helping them surprise their loved ones with beautiful flowers. She affectionately nicknamed her four daughters the “four roses,” a tribute to the heart and soul she poured into the business.

Lucille's daughter, Dorothy Styles Grace, took over the shop and built a floral studio with an apartment above it on King Street. That pink building with the “Grace” name is still standing today, proudly representing the family's legacy.

Kristina H. Diedrick, 5th Generation

Kristina is the proud great-great granddaughter of Lucille Styles, the original heart behind Charleston Florist. What began as after-school shifts during high school quickly bloomed into a lifelong passion. While spending several years immersed in Charleston’s vibrant wedding industry, Kristina found herself continually drawn back to flowers—their beauty, their meaning, and their power to create lasting memories. With over 20 years of experience in Charleston's floral and wedding industry, Kristina has cultivated not only her skills but also a deep appreciation for the artistry and meaning flowers bring to life’s biggest moments.

A James Island local, Kristina shares life with her husband, Brian, and their two little girls, Emma and Hunter. When she’s not in the shop designing bouquets or helping couples bring their wedding visions to life, you’ll often find her enjoying time with her family or soaking in the coastal beauty and charm of Charleston. Her passion lies in honoring tradition while offering a fresh perspective, ensuring every arrangement is crafted with care, love, and a touch of Lowcountry magic.

Today, she carries on her family’s legacy as the owner and operator of Charleston Florist, blending tradition with her own creative touch.
